What is FigJam?
FigJam is an online collaboration tool for brainstorming, developing, and organizing ideas. Its flexibility makes it ideal for supporting every stage of the Design Thinking process, while its real-time collaboration capabilities help you and your peers bring ideas to life quickly and effectively. Getting Started with FigJam
- Create a Figma account or log-in to your current account. Detailed guidance can be found here.
- You can access FigJam via the Figma browser or via the Figma app. We highly recommend using your desktop/PC for the best experience.
- Accessing FigJam: Click on the link provided by CREABA’s team to access the FigJam board used in our program. If you want to create a new board for yourself or your team, open Figma, click the "Create new” button, then choose “FigJam board”.
Exploring FigJam Toolbar
The FigJam toolbar is located at the bottom of the screen, where you’ll find many useful tools for collaboration.
Drawing

- Use the Marker (shortcut M on your keyboard) to draw anything you like.
- You can change the color and thickness of your marker, or even change to another type of pen like a highlighter or even a washi tape!
Sticky Notes

- Add sticky notes (shortcut S on your keyboard) for brainstorming and organizing ideas.
- Use different colors to categorize thoughts.
Shapes and Connectors

- Use the shape tool to add rectangles, circles, and other shapes.
- Each shape has a different shortcut, e.g., O for eclipse, R for square.
- You can change the color and size as well as add texts to the shapes freely.
- Connect shapes with arrows using the connector tool (shortcut X on your keyboard).
Text

- Add textboxes (shortcut T on your keyboard).
- You can adjust the color, size, font and format of your text however you like.
